Retaking the Test
Content Areas and Passing Grade
The CSP exam is structured to take approximately 6 hours and a score of 70% or greater in each section is necessary in order to be certified. The exam covers major areas of interest of snow and ice management business. Listed below are the areas which will be covered:
• Section 1: Business
• Section 2: Human Resource Management
• Section 3: Marketing
• Section 4: Sub-Contractors
• Section 5: Snow and Ice Science
• Section 6: Snow and Ice Operations & Techniques

Notification
Test reports will be mailed to all examinees simultaneously approximately 3 to 4 weeks after the test date. Examinees will be notified of test scores of all sections taken. Please do not call the SIMA office for test results.

Retaking the Test
A fee of $75.00 will be charged for every sitting to retake the test. Applicants may take as many of the failed sections as he/she wants at the re-test sitting.
- If a minimum of 3 sections have been successfully passed, only the unsuccesful section(s) need to be retaken. Successful completion of the 6 sections must be accomplished within 3 years of the initial testing date or the candidate must re-apply and pay the initial testing fee.
- If 4 or more sections are failed, the applicant must re-take the entire exam regardless of which sections were passed or failed. In this instance the applicant must retake the entired test as noted above, after the payment of the $75.00 re-testing fee.
