Brine Making Workshop & Facility Tour at City of Columbus Complex
Wednesday, June 18 | 1:00-5:00 p.m.

This year’s pre-conference event will be held at the City of Columbus Complex and will feature a facility tour and sessions on brine making and equipment cleaning. The City of Columbus is responsible for snow removal on the freeway systems and residential streets of Columbus, and recently purchased the state-of-the-art “Brine Xtreme” system for deicing purposes.

Join us for the pre-conference workshop to:

  • Get a firsthand look at how brine is made with the system and how it is used for snow and ice control on a large scale.
  • See how a municipal snow removal operation runs with a facility tour including the salt barn and overhead applicators, an equipment display, and the traffic management center.
  • Hear Diana Clonch of DW Clonch, LLC present 2 sessions: a brine making workshop focused on the private contractor and how to incorporate brine making into your business, and a session on equipment cleaning. Diana has over 30 years of experience in public works with a diverse background in operations and management and snow and ice control at the county, city and state levels. She is currently acting as a public works consulting specialist focusing on management, operations, snow and ice control training, and innovative technologies.
