Sidewalk Safety Training Courses

  • 1-Personal Health

    (30-45 minutes)

    This module includes information on the proper PPE that should be worn; stretching and nutrition habits; cold stress factors; safe winter walking; and identifying high-risk areas.

     

  • 2-Site(20-30 minutes)

    This module includes information on reviewing sites, site maps and understanding priority areas, safety risks, and potential high-traffic/high risk areas.

     

  • 3-Tools(30-45 minutes)

    This module includes information on choosing the correct shovel for the conditions; safe and effective shoveling and snow blowing techniques; basic equipment safety-related operations; and the safety risks associated with deicing and anti-icing sidewalks, including personal and site patron safety.

     

  • 4-Chemical(20-30 minutes)

    This module includes information on identifying common yard risks, including awareness of moving vehicles and equipment; safe loading and unloading material and equipment; walking in the yard; utilizing proper PPE; and working safely when visibility is reduced.

     

  • 5-Yard(20-30 minutes)

    This module includes information on properly identifying chemicals; wearing proper PPE; reading Safety Data Sheets (SDS); storing and transportation methods; and application best practices.
